St Paul’s Church was built in 1905 in Gothic revival style. It was designed to remind parishioners of churches that they or their parents had left behind in the British Isles.
Warm wood tongue-and-groove panelling and stained-glass windows set the interior tone. The High Altar, the Lady Chapel, and the Chapel of the Holy Child represent the focal centres for worship.
St Paul’s church has a warm acoustical ambiance, which makes it a much sought-after venue for vocal and instrumental performances. The magnificent organ is Opus 264 by Casavant Frères of Québec. It was installed in 1906, the year the church was dedicated, and is the first of its kind west of the Rockies. It was fully renovated in 2002.
The Yamaha grand piano was purchased in 2003, adding significantly to the instrumental resources of the church.
