The New Liturgy Exploration Team is composed of Chris Daly, Maria Denholme, Rose Desrochers, Tom Esakin and our rector – The Rev. Jessica Schaap.
As we move forward with the Deep Talks Action Plan of our parish, the New Liturgy Exploratory Team is beginning to design a process to engage parishioners in reviewing and maybe refreshing our present liturgies, as well as identifying possible new liturgies or worship services that can be offered at St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
A new liturgy refers to the development of an added worship service at a new time with the possibility of holding it in a different space and with a liturgy distinct from those we currently offer. The Deep Talks yielded a curiosity and openness to exploration of what form any new liturgy might take. The purpose of a new liturgy would be to reach a new group underserved or perhaps absent from our current worship services.
In its explorations, the team would like to engage parish members and tap into your wisdom to fully understand your perspectives on liturgies and the foundation on which St. Paul’s might build.
An anonymous New Liturgy Survey on worship at St. Paul’s has been conducted and put together by the team and presented to the congregation last June 25, 2017 during the Parish Meeting One in the Church Hall (lower level)
