As a part of the Anglican Church of Canada, the worldwide Anglican Communion, and the universal Church, we proclaim and celebrate the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ in worship and action!
The Anglican Church of Canada does not define its doctrine in a single statement (sometimes called a confession). Our beliefs are articulated in our worship, as well as in a number of living historical documents which can be found here.
Flowing from our understanding of scripture and being led by the Holy Spirit, St. Paul's has a strong commitment to the inclusion of all sexualities and gender identities. We have an important ministry helping people to reconcile their faith with their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
We believe that God is calling us to greater diversity of membership (to better reflect the neighbourhoods we serve), wider participation in mission, ministry, and leadership, better stewardship of God’s creation, and a stronger resolve in challenging attitudes and structures that cause injustice.
We are currently in a process of discernment as to our present and future priorities, which will be consistent with the Diocese of New Westminster and the Five Marks of Mission.
The Anglican tradition affirms three historic creeds, the most succinct and ancient of which is the Apostles’ Creed.
We acknowledge that we live, work, and worship on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
